Braces and Clear Aligners

Orthodontic treatment runs for a year or more, so the thing worth getting straight at the start is what you will have paid by the end. Every plan below shows the full amount, not a monthly figure on its own.

Metal braces — what each plan costs in total

Metal braces are paid as a fitting fee and then a monthly amount. The totals below are what you pay across the whole treatment.

  • Metal braces — option 1

4,999 THB to fit, then 1,500 THB a month for 21 months — 36,499 THB in total

Includes impressions, X-rays, removal of the braces, a retainer, and re-fitting 3 loose brackets.

  • Metal braces — option 2

5,999 THB to fit, then 1,000 THB a month for 31 months — 36,999 THB in total

Includes impressions, X-rays and re-fitting 3 loose brackets. Removal (1,500 THB) and the retainer are charged separately.

  • Self-ligating braces

10,000 THB to fit, then 2,500 THB a month for 20 months — 60,000 THB in total

Includes impressions, X-rays, removal, a retainer and 3 loose brackets. No elastic ties to change, so fewer visits.

The monthly amount is paid when you come for an adjustment. There is no interest and no finance company involved — it is simply how the treatment is billed.

Invisalign clear aligners

Every package starts with a 3D scan at 9,990 THB, then payment in stages.

  • Express57,990 THBup to 7 aligner pairs · refinements: none
  • Essentials67,990 THBup to 20 aligner pairs · refinements: —
  • Lite97,990 THBup to 14 aligner pairs · refinements: 3 sets
  • Moderate127,990 THBup to 26 aligner pairs · refinements: 5 sets
  • Comprehensive147,990 THBunlimited · refinements: unlimited, within 5 years

Prices exclude the 3D scan above. A "refinement" is an extra set of aligners made near the end, once the dentist can see how the teeth have actually moved — the bigger packages include more of them because longer cases usually need them.

Which package fits your case is decided from the scan, not from what you would like to spend. If a cheaper package cannot move your teeth far enough, the dentist will say so rather than start it and ask for more later.

What is not in the orthodontic price

Charged separately

  • Extractions, if your case needs teeth removed before starting
  • Fillings and a scaling, which have to be done before the braces go on
  • Removal of the braces and the retainer — on the plans that say so above; the others include both

You get the whole figure first

At the planning visit the dentist tells you how many teeth need to come out, how many need filling, and what that adds to the orthodontic price. You leave with one number and can think about it. Nobody pushes you to sign that day.

How often you have to come in

  • Metal braces with elastic ties. Adjustments and new ties at every appointment — the most frequent of the three, and the least expensive.
  • Self-ligating braces. The bracket holds the wire itself, so there are no ties to change and you come in less often. Worth considering if you work away or find it hard to take time off.
  • Invisalign. You change to the next set at home on the schedule the dentist gives you and come in for progress checks. Aligners come out for meals and for brushing.

Your own appointment interval is set at the planning visit, because it depends on how far the teeth have to move.

If you leave Thailand part-way through

This is worth thinking about before you start, not after. Fixed braces need adjusting at intervals; going months without one slows the treatment and can undo progress. Clear aligners travel better, because you carry the next sets with you and check in remotely between visits — but they still need scheduled reviews.

Tell the dentist at the planning visit roughly how much of the year you spend in Thailand. The plan is chosen around that. If your pattern does not suit a two-year case, you will be told.

If you do move away mid-treatment, ask us for your records — X-rays, the treatment plan and where the case has got to. Any orthodontist elsewhere will need them to take over, and we hand them over without fuss.

Transferring a case from another clinic

Plenty of people arrive here mid-treatment: they have moved to Jomtien, or going back to the clinic that started the work is no longer practical. That is a normal case for us to pick up.

Bring whatever records the previous clinic will give you. Seeing the original plan lets the dentist carry on with it instead of starting again.

Retainers — the step you cannot skip

Teeth drift back towards where they started. A retainer is the only thing that stops years of treatment being wasted, and people whose teeth crowd up again are almost always people who stopped wearing one.

Paying in instalments

The metal plans are already paid in monthly amounts, as set out above. On top of that, we accept 0% instalments on KTC and KBank credit cards for up to 10 months. Those are Thai-issued cards; a card from your own country can be used to pay in full but not for the instalment plan.

Children and teenagers

There is no fixed age to start. Permanent teeth arrive on their own schedule and the problems differ: some cases are easier if treated early, others give a better result if you wait until the adult teeth are through.

Bring your child in and let a dentist look. If it is too early you will be told so plainly, and we will suggest when to come back.
